South Beach Miami is a very gay- and lesbian-friendly place to be. Not only are the gay beaches, but also hotels that cater specifically to the gay and lesbian population. Some shops display the rainbow flag, and some nightclubs are specifally gas as well. South Beach's Art Deco district is a concentrated hub of nightlife that's friendly to the gay and lesbian population. With all that said, South Beach Miami is a pretty open-minded area, and gays and lesbians will feel pretty comfortable in just about any nightclub, hotel, or shop they enter.
The gay beach in South Beach is Ocean Drive at 12th Street, and there's another specifically gay beach in northern Miami Beach, at 159th Street.
